Socio-economic impacts of large-scale deep energy retrofits in Finnish apartment buildings

Energy use in buildings is a major source of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions Europe. expense for building owners, but also tax revenue the government. Deep energy retrofitting can significantly reduce consumption and CO2 buildings. However, environmental benefits are linked to national grid. retrofits have significant cost not always cost-effective owners. On other hand, they require lot investments labor, which provides employment citizens governments. This study examines economic impacts large-scale deep Finnish apartment stock continuing until 2050. Low high impact retrofit configurations were obtained from previous study, utilized simulation-based multi-objective optimization find solutions. Four archetypes time periods different codes used form stock. A model based on statistics was estimate future changes The combines optimized development undergoing retrofitting.
